Make your own fragrance
Perfume is such a personal thing that it would make perfect sense for one to compose his own scent according to his own preferences. Creating a home-made fragrance as a gift is a mighty fine idea. People would appreciate something that comes from within your heart rather than going for something which is simply bought in a store.
There are several ingredients you should have in store if you want to make a perfume:
Water, alcohol, essential oils a coffee filter, a dark glass bottle and a good nose.
The basic oil that stores all the scents in it would be sweet almond oil and we would use it as a basis to our perfume. You add some base notes to the sweet along oil, mix up, add some middle notes and then afterwards some high notes. The base notes would be the most powerful, heaviest notes like musk, while the high notes would be the easiest ones to digest. Flower-based oils or very sweet fruit perfumes.
After mashing up several types of oils (with having sweet almond as the base one), you pour everything into a dark glass bottle (that would help you sustain the perfume, and make sure ingredients don’t go bad). On top of it, it is suggested to add 2.5 ounces of alcohol. The alcohol is the one that makes perfume actually stick to human skin, and last there for hours.
Shake the bottle and keep the formula still for anywhere between 3-5 weeks, or even more. Add 2 spoons of spring water into the mixture after you are done, and keep the perfume in a cool, dark place, so the oils will remain in mint conditions throughout the process and after it.
You can always visit some good perfume stores to see what ingredients and scents are using the best selling perfumes in order to see what combination works best. A good recommendation is to visit this fragrancex review.
